The Pere Marquette River is one of the most well known rivers in the country. The PM has a reputation for being a premier brown trout fishery and the annual salmon and steelhead migrations give anglers the opportunity to catch trophy fish while enjoying the natural beauty of the river and the changing seasons in Michigan. This historic, free flowing river supports both resident and lake-run fish. The resident brown and rainbow trout can be caught all year, steelhead can be caught during their fall migration, the winter holdover and during the spring run, and the annual salmon run begins in August and goes strong through late October. Each month of the year brings on new challenges and provides opportunities that should be experienced by all.
